The Leaders in Training (LIT) Program is designed for youth who will be entering 9th & 10th grade in the fall of 2026. This program is perfect for youth looking for a leadership development opportunity while still experiencing a summer at camp. LITs spend their time participating in camp activities, developing leadership skills, providing service in the community, taking part in field trips, and assisting counselors with a variety of responsibilities around camp. On Fridays, each LIT will assist a Traditional Program group and co-lead games and special events. All LIT campers have a virtual interview prior to camp to learn more about their goals and interests for the summer. (This is great practice for their future employment!)

“[My daughter] has had a fantastic summer at HPR. She is sad to see it coming to an end. You provide such a wonderful environment for the kids. The character-building, along with the pushing of personal limits and challenges that come along with camp have made a huge impact on her. Being an L.I.T. provided a great transition year for [her] – she sees herself more as a leader/helper now than as a child. I am not sure what her summer would have been like without HPR, but I know it was a lot more fun – and she is a better person for having been to HPR. We are glad you are here making such an impact on so many kids!”
